LETTER FROM HEATHER O’HARA

Dear Readers...

I thank you for your patience these last few months... As I've mentioned in previoius newsletters, I've been working on a new Web site and, in a rather surprisingly comical way, it turned out to be more like crossing an ocean than a stream!

I rode some mighty waves, capsized a few times, and ran into many a sandbar; but with the help of many, many extraordinary people, I am happy to announce that we have finally arrived on the shores of the World Wide Web!

I have many people to thank, as I could never have crossed that ocean alone... With notably precise and amazingly perfect timing, whenever I needed help or encouragement or guidance--someone would always show up, seemingly out of nowhere, with a bucket to bail or an oar to row--and with their help; a new Web site was born.

Because all of you inspire me more than you will ever know--I want you to be the first to go to the place that ocean voyage eventually took me; but before I take you there, I want to tell you a little about the journey...

Years ago, the day before American troops were sent into Iraq, I wrote a poem about world peace entitled "One Song." At that time, we were having one of our unforgettable Colorado blizzards; and the entire state was buried in white for three days.

During those three days, although most of the neighborhoods in my area had no electricity or telephone service--for some mysterious reason, my home was one of the few not affected by the snow storm--we had phone service, heat and working computers! Delighted to be "snowed in," my children and I decided to take advantage of our rather comfortable storm status and together we worked tirelessly, sending the "One Song" poem, via the Internet, to newspapers all over the world, giving them permission to publish it... but, to this day, we do not know if it was ever published by any of them.

Saddened by the thought of yet another war, I was determined to get "One Song" into print and distribute it--although I hadn't any idea how to do so. It seemed that it was too short to be a book and too long to be submitted for magazine publication; so... I filed it away, trusting that someday, somehow, it would find its own perfect place in the world . . .

It is that poem, left quietly filed away for years, which became the foundation for the new Web site... One poem--given the name "One Song," one day before American troops were sent into Iraq--waited patiently for exactly the right time; and then took me on one remarkable journey!

No longer just a poem; it is now a video presentation--the signature video and the introduction to the new Web site . . .

The faces of the children you'll see in the "One Song" video are not the faces of strangers. They are the faces of your children and mine--and I ask that you do all that you can to create a more peaceful world for them.

"Peace Consciousness" is the highest level of consciousness there is--it comes from an unfaltering awareness and understanding of unity--the spiritual knowledge that we are all connected; that we are all "one."

All wars, whether they appear to be right or wrong, good or bad, necessary or unnecessary--are direct manifestations of "separation consciousness." And all wars condone either the killing of someone's parent or the killing of someone's child. Every war is a "Brothers War," because every war interrupts unity and destroys families--weakening the connection that we are all born with, which unites us as brothers no matter what level of consciousness we choose to live from.

The term "brothers" has long been associated with Christianity, but please do not confuse "religious brotherhood" with "spiritual brotherhood." All mankind, regardless of culture, traditions or religious beliefs--are of one family. That family is a magnificent mixture of peoples; all integrated by the "oneness" from which we came--a Oneness that transcends any label humanity chooses to place upon its true identity.

Black or white; positive or negative; Hindu, Christian, or Buddhist; what is "One" can only recognize its parts as the beauty of its "wholeness." There is no distinction between he who goes to the left and he who goes to the right, because within wholeness all paths connect--all paths are one.

Whether we like their actions or not, whether we agree with their beliefs and behavior or not--everyone is our brother--and our brothers stand at both ends of the rifle.

Where there is no understanding of unity, no awareness of connection, no recognition of the value of wholeness; there will always be destruction, because destruction feeds separation consciousness which, in turn, leads to more destruction. Neither can find a reason for unity, connection or peacefulness, because "bits and pieces" fear losing their perceived individual power within "wholeness"; when, in Reality, within wholeness or within Oneness is the only place True Power is found.

Enlightenment teaches that we cannot solve a problem with the same level of consciousness that created it. Therefore, the first step for each of us is to focus on raising our own level of consciousness; and together, as we rise up to a higher level of understanding, we will be better able to solve the problems, correct the errors and help all of humanity find the reasons for peace.

Today... let us begin by choosing what is for the greater good of all, and rather than choosing one brother over another, which will only separate us more, let us choose all of our brothers. Instead of choosing sides, let us choose peace. Let us do whatever we can to find peace within ourselves, to create peace within our families and communities, and to nurture peacefulness within a world whose children suffer most our unpeaceful ways.

This new Web site, sibling to Quantum-Grace.com, was created as a pathway to peace and it is dedicated to the children of the world. Soon to be translated into a number of major languages and with the addition of many new products in 2007, it is an offering of the understanding of unity--the road to world peace by way of individual peace, higher awareness and friendship. And, because peace is priceless, there is no charge for membership or for any of the products that are offered--everything is free to download and free to print out.

I ask only that you share it; that you push it out into the world with everything you've got; and that whenever you are asked what side you're on, you'll say, "I am on the side of humanity; I am on the side of the world's children--all of them; therefore, I choose peace."

Why the name, The Lotus Project?

The lotus blossom is considered a sacred flower throughout India, Japan, China and Tibet--signifying beauty, strength and peacefulness--and I believe the name best reflects the messages of peace and goodwill that a Consciousness of Unity promotes. Also, many of the lotus blossom photographs found on a number of products throughout the site were taken in the waters of Hiroshima, and I feel that using these photographs is a beautiful tribute to the people of Hiroshima--who have suffered great tragedy, yet forgiven and moved forward with peace in their hearts while rebuilding their lives.

I believe that the name, "The Lotus Project," and its signature flower, together, make a powerful statement to every individual in every nation that world peace begins within our own hearts and that we are each responsible for making the world a better place for all.
